Mollie Vento Hudson offers a unique perspective to the readers of UO, having a dual career in journalism and health care. After earning a Bachelor's
degree in journalism from the University of Missouri, Mollie worked for Whittle
Communications from 1986 to 1990. She then became the editor of Health Watch, a
consumer watchdog publication for the health-care industry. In 1991, she became
the editor of Unique Opportunities, The Physician’s Resource.
Mollie continued her duties as the editor of UO while she went back to school to study nursing. In 1995, she earned a Bachelor's
degree in Nursing from Grand Valley State University, followed by a Master's of
Nursing from Michigan State University in 1998. She has practiced in community
health centers as a family nurse practitioner for more than eight years,
working with uninsured and underinsured patients.
As both a journalist and a health-care practitioner, Mollie can articulately
address the issues physicians face. Her experience is a distinctive asset for UO and adds insight to the articles she assigns and edits for our physician
readers.
